Founder’s Note
I was driving to a doctor’s appointment, running through my mental checklist. I manage luxury properties in Whistler — which means purchases, receipts, accountants, owners waiting for documentation. The usual chaos.
I’d just been listening to Silicon Valley Girl where Marina was interviewing Mo Gawdat, former Chief Business Officer at Google X. He said something that stopped me: find a solution that billions of people use a few times a day, and you’ll create something truly useful in this world.
I’m from fashion and film. I think in niches. That kind of thinking was new to me — and it stayed with me as I drove.
Then it hit me at the most ordinary moment. I was thinking about receipts. Specifically about how much I hated touching them. I’m deeply conscious of BPA — the hormone-disrupting chemicals coating thermal paper. I prioritise my health above almost everything else. And I remember thinking: I can’t wait until I no longer have to expose myself to something harmful just to document a purchase.
And then the obvious question arrived:
Why are any of us still dealing with physical receipts in 2026?
A relic coated in chemicals. Impossible to recycle and handed to millions of people every day. AI is here. Digital payments are everywhere. And now that certain APIs are open to founders like me — now is the moment.

For non-integrated merchants, open the app and photograph the slip. Either way, Reii parses, categorizes, and stores it instantly.
Yes. Reii is built to be payment-agnostic and operates across North America. We’re incorporated in British Columbia and launching first in Canada, with US availability in the same rollout. GST, PST, HST, and US sales tax are all handled automatically.
Only you — and anyone you explicitly grant access to, like your accountant. Reii is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read your receipt data. There is no advertising model. Your financial data is not a product here.
